Just an Average Nutrition Supplement Site That I Won't Revisit

I like certain nutrition bars and am always on the lookout for sites that sell good vitamins, nutrition bars and shakes, and similar things. A while ago, I did a search for Luna Bars and came up with 1Nutrition.com.
What the Site Sells
This site is for the very serious sports enthusiast. Their supplements are very potent. They have fat burners and even Ephedra which I thought was banned but must be back on the market. They have nutrition bars and shakes, all sorts of workout boosters, lots of stuff for those watching or cutting carbs, some training gear, and even a couple erectile enhancers. This, as you may have guessed, is a site more geared toward men and their needs. However, the nutrition items are unisex.
Navigation
This site is super simple. There are drop down boxes to search for what you are looking for either by category, product, or brand name. You can also do a direct search for what you want.
The site is bland but functional. It is light blue and white and has simple descriptions (but lots of nutrition info for the bars and shakes they sell) and simple photos. It seems to me that most people who shop at this site already know what they want or what sort of thing they are looking for and don't need a load of explanation as what every supplement is.
The site is set up like many shopping sites. You add your products to your cart, then enter either your user name or password if you are a returning customer or you choose a user name and password to start the process if you are new to the site.
You move into the checkout process where you choose what type of shipping you would like and fill in your personal info. Once you do that, there is the final step of inputting your major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card) into the system and getting a confirmation letter that the order has been processed. You can also order by phone and/or pay by money order or check if you desire.
Variety
This site has many brand names and a lot of variety within its niche. The workout gear is a very tiny section but the supplements, snacks, bars, shakes, and other items are represented by a fairly large number of names and varieties.
My Experience
I decided to buy a box of Luna bars on the site. I picked the flavor I wanted and proceeded to the check out. It was a painless procedure but I was charged $6.95 shipping and handling on a $19.95 order which I feel was steep. However, the site has a flat shipping rate of $6.95 regardless of how large an order is, so depending on what you buy, shipping could be a good deal for you.
I got a letter of verification of my order immediately and then one saying the item was shipped out. I was given a tracking number to use on the site to see where my order was at any given time. The order arrived within a week and in good shape.
However, the price of the bars I got is about $3.00 more expensive on 1Nutrition.com than on many other websites so I have not returned to the site to buy anything else.
Shipping and Returns
As I mentioned above, shipping is a flat $6.95 for orders in the US. There are options for expedited shipping for an extra fee. International orders are accepted for a higher shipping fee.
You may return unopened, undamaged items for credit if received within 10 days at their warehouse. After 10 days, you are charged a 15% restocking fee. I think 10 days is a bit ridiculous as it takes a little time to package things and send them and the mail works in mysterious ways. No products can be returned after 30 days. You must get authorization to return any products or you will not be issued a refund.
Whew. Too much like work to send back something, isn't it?

Conclusion
I'm not impressed with the site. While they carry a wide selection of supplements and snacks, bars, shakes, etc, for the sports enthusiast and weight lifter, their prices are only average. I checked a few prices on a couple random items I chose and found the same items cheaper at other sites. The shipping charge can be a good deal if you are ordering a lot of items. It isn't so great if you are ordering just one small bottle of supplements, though.
The return policy is a tough one. I think many would be hard pressed to get their items back to 1Nutrition.com within 10 days of receipt considering one has to call there first and be authorized then get the item(s) into the mail and hope for the best.
Prices aren't super high but not a steal and there is just nothing that makes this website stand out above so many others that sell similar products.
I had no trouble with my order. It was a simple transaction so I can't complain about that. Still, I found the bars I like cheaper and with no shipping elsewhere.
3 stars. This is an average niche site for the serious weightlifter, bodybuilder, or sports enthusiast (and I suppose a few guys who want an herbal erectile enhancer) that doesn't stand apart from the pack in a bad nor a good way.
